The whole app, plus the two things that need a server: messages between two mushrooms, and file links that work for a day. Those two run on our servers, and that is the part you pay for each month.

Plus tax. Cancel whenever you like in your Gumroad library (open the membership, then Manage membership), and it keeps working until the period you paid for runs out.

What the membership adds

Two things that need a server.

Friends

Give one person an 8 character invite code, and your two mushrooms carry messages between you. Each message is locked on your computer before it leaves and opened on theirs, so our server only ever holds something it cannot read.

Spore Storage

Drop a file on your mushroom and it hands you back a link. Anyone can open it for 24 hours, with nothing to install and no account at their end. The file is locked before it leaves, and the key lives in the link.

Everything else comes with it.

  • The whole app for Mac and Windows: reminders, focus sessions, stats, chat, the notepad, games and the rest
  • One membership covers up to 5 devices, Macs and Windows PCs together
  • If the membership is all you bought, Mushroom sleeps when it ends, and wakes up again when you renew. Nothing is deleted
  • Already bought Mushroom? It keeps working whatever happens to the membership; only Friends and Spore Storage stop
  • It does not include the iPhone app, which comes with the App Store version
  • Rather not pay monthly? The server side is open source, and Mushroom can use your own, for free

Needs macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon, or Windows 11. Prices are before tax: buyers in the EU and the UK see VAT added at checkout, and getmushroom.app shows the total for your country.
